Our Legacy
February 1992, Sarita Handa turned her passion for textiles to found Sarita Handa Exports Pvt. Ltd. Having traveled the length and breadth of India as an Army wife and seeing the diversity of the weaves particularly the Saree, it was love at first sight. The vision for the company was always very clear- Product Made in India, by Indian Artisans but with an International aesthetic and quality. The idea, right from the beginning was always to ensure that the Artisans knew that they could count on us. One of the first initiatives was to adopt a village and train the women of the village in hand quilting. Our in-house design teams comprises of some of the brightest minds that combine originality with uncompromising quality. We offer truly bespoke design solutions for our clients.
1992
The journey begins with a workforce of 10. We started manufacturing our first patchwork quilts.
1993
Adopted a Village close to Delhi to train the women there in the art of hand quilting. Achieved revenue of one million Dollars.

First million Dollar order, crewel embroidery gains importance.

Consolidated manufacturing in a 250,000 square foot state-of-the- art-factory.

Celebrated by launching a collection of Hand spun Hand woven collection of quilts, Duvet covers and cushions.

Moved our Corporate Headquarters, Showroom, and Design Studio to a larger space.

With strict precautions the factory worked through the worst of the pandemic. In the midst of this we achieved our highest single year growth.

She started with nothing other than her name, a list of customers she wanted to be associated with and a whole lot of zeal to create a company with heart.

Along with her thoughtful leadership she ensures that the team understands the customer's needs and delivers to their requirements. She strongly believes that the best brand ambassador is a happy customer and a happy employee.
Rahul Puri
Executive Director
In addition to overseeing the finances of the company he is passionate about all things vintage, particularly textiles. Would love to one day set up a vintage textiles museum. It is these vintage pieces that often inspire us in creating beautiful artisanal products.

Is Mrs. Handa’s oldest ally having joined the company in it’s first week. He has formidable operational expertise and is involved in overseeing several of the company’s projects.
